Badan Informasi Geospasial - BIG or The Geospatial Information Agency of Indonesia is the Indonesian non-ministerial agency that deals with geospatial information. BIG was first established in 1969 as Badan Koordinasi Survei dan Pemetaan Nasional (Bakosurtanal). The name of Badan Informasi Geospasial was launched in 2011. BIG is under and responsible directly to the President of Republic of Indonesia. In carrying out its duties and functions, the Agency in coordinated with the Ministry of Research and Technology. BIG is based in Cibinong Bogor and its head office is registered at Pusat Penelitian, Promosi dan Kerjasama Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) Jl Raya Jakarta - Bogor KM 46 Cibinong 16911. At present, the Chairman of BIG is Asep Karsidi. The Chairman of BIG is assisted by 3 deputies, namely Deputy Basic Geospatial Information, Deputy Geospatial Thematic Information, and Deputy Geospatial Information Infrastructure.
